Anniversary Plans

In case you don't know, Knit Dance Repeat Designs celebrates its 10th anniversary on Monday, January 6, 2025!

I don't know about you but I think that's pretty significant!

So after toying with a bunch of ideas I came up with a celebration plan that will start on Monday, January 6th and continue through January 15th; 10 entire days!

Here's the rundown of what will be happening:

• Each day there will be a different sale. These will be announced here on the blog at midnight Newfoundland time (UTC -3.5) each day, starting on Monday January 6th, and last for that 24 hour period. Check back daily to see what the day's sale is!
• Games! If you like word puzzles, these will be totally up your alley. These will be posted here on Monday with all the details (hint: games mean prizes ;) )
• I'm working on the timing of something else. I can't promise it'll happen yet but please know I'm up to something. I mean more so than I normally am lol

Happy 2025!

Happy New Year, fiber friends!

I rang in the New Year several times while taking part in the Fasten Off Yarn-a-Long New Year's Eve Boonanza. And I'm feeling a little tired, so I'm keeping this short and sweet. For once! Lol!

KDRD's 10th birthday is in a few days! Are you as amazed as I am? 10 years ago I was researching how to make pdfs and discovering I could do it from my phone. Fast forward a decade, and I'm still using my phone for everything 😂

Stay tuned for some anniversary announcements after I catch up on my sleep a bit. 

I hope you had a fun and safe New Year's, and all your yarn plans come together the way you want them to over 2025.

Happy Birthday, KDRD!

They grow up so fast sniff

My little Knit Dance Repeat Designs is 8 years old today!

I launched my shop on R@v on January 6, 2015 with pdfs of the three free patterns that were on my original blog. Those patterns, Anchors & Ropes, MVP, and Pyewacket, are still here too! And they've been joined by 13 others in the intervening years.

My current plan is to release two new patterns this year, and continue with rolling out re-releases of my current catalog. Some needed new photos, all needed my logo added, and any with an existing low vision pdf are getting updated for that pdf to also be screen reader accessible. Practice Makes Perfect, which came out in 2022, was my first pattern released with all of these features included from day 1. All Knit Dance Repeat Designs patterns going forward will as well. Now I just need to get my older patterns caught up!

There are a couple of behind the scenes changes coming this year too. The one you'll probably notice is the dropping of ".blogspot" from the url. Other changes won't be noticeable to you but they'll help me on this side of the screen. That means more regular posts and tutorials. 

I don't know about you, but I'm excited about what 2023 will bring. Hmm, maybe a couple sweater quantities of yarn? ;)

Join me in raising a toast (I've got a glass of Dr Pepper, so you needn't be fancy) to 8 years of Knit Dance Repeat Designs! May year 9 be the best yet!

Another Year Older

Not me! Well not me yet anyway. 

🎉Knit Dance Repeat Designs is 7 today! 🎉

First off, thank you to everyone who's bought a pattern (or two) over that time. I couldn't continue without your support. These last couple years have been difficult for a lot of us, and for a variety of reasons, but happily things are still going strong (although at times, slow) here :)

And yes, that includes Jakey. He's happily running about, waiting for more wool to arrive so he can snorgle it, and demanding pets, "lubs", and all manner of attention and affection. You'd never know how close we came to losing him three times (yes, 3!) last year!

I've talked a bit about what's in store for Knit Dance Repeat Designs this year in my last few posts, so I won't bore you with repetition. I can happily tell you that photoshoots are being planned with my photographer (aka my roommate aka Jakey's Mom) for several of my existing patterns. And the reformatting process is going fairly smoothly. I'm confident that I'll be announcing the first of the re-releases within the next few weeks. Can we all agree: yay for no more bad phone selfie pattern photos? ;D

Raise your mug/cup/glass/water bottle with me as I give a fiber crafter's toast:

May there be no knots in any of our hanks/skeins/balls of yarn, no matter the fiber content.

May our tapestry needles, stitch markers, and scissors not run off right when we need them.

May our tape measures not twist.

May our gauge swatches not tell lies.

May we easily find matching dyelots.

May our lace block nicely without having to fuss too much.

May our cables always cross properly.

And may we, and our loved ones, all enjoy decent health.
